Meditation is one the central pillars of MIMC’s mission of preserving and promoting the Buddha Dhamma and transforming the lives of people. The Sambodhi Retreat Centre at Devachan offers meditation and yoga courses during summers and is attended by hundreds of domestic and foreign tourists. The aim of practicing meditation is to experience peace and quietness not only physically but also in one’s heart and soul, discipline the mind, achieve clarity of thoughts, harness positivity and creativity and bring overall transformation in psychological, emotional, and physical health.
Set amidst beautiful mountains and gardens, Sambodhi Retreat Centre provides the optimum surrounding of serenity and tranquillity to meditators for exploring one’s inner-self. This summer, twenty, 3-day meditation retreat courses were held at the Sambodhi Retreat Centre with approximately 1000 meditators attending the courses. Silence, mindfulness, self-reflection, purification of mind and body are some of the key teachings of the meditation teachings at the Sambodhi Retreat Centre.
A special “Kutir” (cottage) with the comfort and cosiness of home was built for hosting VIP and elderly guests at the Sambodhi Retreat Centre. The “Kutir” has a large bedroom with an attached toilet, a modular kitchen with essential gadgets and crockeries, a furnished living room and a decorative meditation room. It has a large balcony which offers breathtaking views of the mountains and the whole of Devachan campus.
